How to cook the perfect Steak

There are a few ways to cook a steak, but I created my own method that works every time. Learning to cook a perfect steak is one of the best cooking lessons you’ll ever learn. Here, I’m sharing my easy method and a rule to live by: 5, 5, rest. Memorize this phrase and follow my instructions exactly for a juicy, delicious steak every time. Here, I’m using a prime-cut ribeye.
Ingredients
6-ounce rib-eye steaks, 1 ½-inches thick
Extra virgin olive oil
Sea salt & cracked black pepper
Preheat a cast iron or heavy skillet to medium-high heat. Pat steak very dry and rub with olive oil, salt and pepper. Sear 5 minutes per side for medium rare. Do not flip back and forth. Rest steaks for 10 minutes. Slice against the grain to serve.
Rule: 5, 5, Rest.
