I called this bar, “The OMG I Need This” because that’s what you’ll say after you’ve had it once. You must use good milk chocolate not dark chocolate, and sea salt flakes not fine. The humble rice krispie square gets a redo with good vanilla and sea salt, then dipped in melted chocolate and sprinkled with sea salt. This is the perfect treat for homemade gifts or good enough to serve at any fancy dinner. Imagine serving this simple bar with flakey sea salt on good china—you could lay a sprig of rosemary on top–and watch the expressions and conversation flow. The image above shows toasted almonds in the chocolate, but here I’ve left them out.
